This past weekend, while I was changing the fork springs on my R7, I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at the steering head bearings since everything was already disassembled
The bike's only got 9,000 miles on it, but I'm not the first owner. I'm glad I decided to check, it seemed like someone had been in there before. The grease was packed in strange spots, but after a good clean-up, the bearings and races still looked really good
I'm holding off on putting everything back together for now because I just ordered a GPR stabilizer too. Fortunately, my buddy's old R6 stem socket fit perfectly
