I've had a pretty weird experience in the past year and I'm looking for someone to give me some advice. For the previous oil service I noticed that I'm losing oil, not a lot, but enough to need to top it off. It wasn't smoking and I didn't notice any leaks, so i was confused, but I still rode the bike. I did an oil service and now for the past 2k miles roughly it hasn't lost a drop of oil. Anyone has any ideas why?

yeah, that is quite weird lol. An intermittent problem is always a mystery. But, honestly, the most likely culprit is a poorly installed or defective oil filter from the last oil change.
If the old filter wasn't torqued down correctly or the old gasket got stuck, and you put the new one on top of it, it could have been leaking just enough to burn off on the exhaust before it hit the ground.
It's a super common and super frustrating problem that a lot of riders have dealt with
