R7 radiator

Bought the R7 radiator online after finding out it was available since mine went bad and now on receiving the package and going through it, I'm noticing some key differences that are stopping me, first off, the radiator cap isn't tilted just right and there is a hole on top that doesn't seem to fit . According to some speculations the r7 was improved upon to ensure it cools better but I cant seem to find any physical indications pointing to that or I just didn't buy the revised version ? lol

Lol, you probably received a different version of the r7 radiator, possibly an aftermarket one or an earlier model. Yes yamaha did tweak the r7's cooling system, but if you don't see any clear improvements, it's possible you didn't get the revised version, my thoughts though

Do you think the differences you're seeing are due to an aftermarket design variation, or could it actually be a revised OEM version that Yamaha tweaked for improved cooling performance on newer R7 models?

I get you since that confusion is pretty common with R7 radiators. I guess if the cap angle and mounting points don’t line up with your stock one, it’s more likely an aftermarket or earlier OEM revision rather than the updated cooling setup. Maybe compare part numbers before installing, Yamaha was pretty consistent once the revision rolled out. I'm not sure if this has been resolved but yeah.
