2022 yamaha R7 is cranky in hot weather

My son's R7's acting weird in this hot, humid weather (it's at least 34°C with daily rain here).

I tried to ride it yesterday, it's taking ages to start (10 cranks!) even when warm, and the engine temp easily hits 110°C in traffic. Fans kick in hard to cool it down.

My son's acting nonchalant about it, but I don't think it's normal, right?

Might wanna check coolant levels coz thats definitely not normal, and radiator condition, and thermostat. maybe have a mechanic give it a look before it turns into a bigger headache since your son is brushing it off

I agree with this, there's definitely a problem with the colling system and those are temps you shouldn't be seeing. As for the trouble starting it can either be the battery or the starter motor. Does it sound like it's struggling to start or it sounds normal? If it sounds normal it could be a different kind of problem.

Have you noticed if the bike struggles more in stop-and-go traffic versus open roads, or could the high humidity and heat be affecting starting and cooling performance differently?

You’re not overthinking it. I believe you should start by checking the coolant level. If not that, you can also check the radiator airflow and the battery health since hot starts will show a weak battery fast.
