Yamaha YZF-R7 model differences

I own a European Yamaha YZF-R7 and am trying to determine if the American YZFR7N service manual is suitable for maintenance tasks on my bike. My riding buddy has the American version and he's wondering the same thing since we both want to do our own work. Are the electrical systems and engine components similar enough between these models to use the same repair documentation?

The European YZF-R7 and American YZF-R7N are pretty much the same bike so the american service manual will work well for your maintenance . There could be small differences in wiring or emissions stuff, but overall, the manual should cover what you both need.

Thanks for confirming. I'll go ahead and use the American manual for now and just keep an eye out for any wiring or emissions differences. If I hit anything odd, will compare it with the Euro spec sheet and post here. Planning to start with basic maintenance this weekend. Do you know if the ECU pinouts match across both versions?
